In light of the recent "hair" post, and how adorable I've become, I'm feeling more and more like one of these cute, furry creatures: The Monchichi.
A quick history of the origins of Monchichi:
Satan, the founder of K-Tel records, formed an alliance with ABBA and set out to develop a line of satanic monkey toys to enslave the children of the '80s. The Monchichi, male and female, were a product of this evil co-op. The plan backfired, however, and just made everyone that came in contact with the Monchichi, really, really gay. The same goes for any kid who watched Thundercats, Gem, Rainbowbrite, and took the clothes off of Strawberry Shortcake to see what goodies she really had underneath that frock.

Oh, man! I know I had some K-tel records! Now I'm going to be on YouTube all day trying to remember what they were. I think it was "Kooky Tunes" or something to that effect. Roger Miller, Leapy Lee, etc.
I found some of my little Monchichi collectibles a few months ago in my parents' attic. They were indeed a little fruity as they had been stored away in the same box with Strawberry Shortcake and her smelly friends for many, many years. I even found all of Strawberry Shortcake's pets (the pink spotted cat, some little monkey, and a puppy with striped ears)so it was a huge TIGF party that weekend.
Oh, I'll give you Thundercats, but Gem and the Holograms were outrageous... truly truly truly outrageous.
Fortunately I was spared the monchichi experience, but I still have my pet rock.
That K-tel link was far out, man. I, like went a little nutty checking out all the commersials from the 70's.

Julie~ I remember finding a K-Tel record in our alley way when I was growing up in Phoenix. It had a bunch of disco tunes on it. I was pretty excited, despite the many scratches on it.
