TIGF!!! (That's Incredibly Gay Friday): Big Gay Indy Love

It's okay. I am still firm in my masculinity. I'm definitely going to see the new one on Saturday, even if it means being sat next to some smelly fanboy or mass organism known as "The Big Momo Fambly".

But you know what would be even better than this? Another one of these:
I wonder if Sean Young still looks as hot as she did in this movie, not to mention Daryl Hanna. Rutger Hauer was a scene stealer--amazing!

Are you guys with me on all of this? Thoughts please.

P.S. Han Solo shot first--pussy George Lucas.

There are so many shades of geeky in this post, I don't think I could count them all. My husband's like that, too. Have a good time at the movies. I'll be watching the young'uns while Dave goes to see the movie, so he can enjoy the film without sitting next to "The Big Momo Fambly"

I get to sit next to Mr. Moto's famiry when that flick makes it's way across the water.

As far as blade runner is concerned I hope that Hollywood never tries to add or improve upon the original.

For Han Solo, shootin first was just part of his renegade/ outlaw image.
Leia seemed to like it

So would you beat me if you knew I have never seen any of these movies?
No actually the last time I saw Indie was when I was a youth. Who's Han Solo? Yes I am a victim of reality tv and shitty movies generation.. do not shun me :( lol

Julie~ You are a good wife. I hope Dave has a great time at the movie. And, yes, shades of geek are my pallet--ha!

NYD~ You are too funny, man. You are probably right about Hollywood messing up another Blade Runner, if that were to happen.

Chandra~ I am finding that a lot of people nowadays have no clue what I'm talking about on a whole lot of things. Of course, there's the Harrison Ford Indiana Jones character from those movies. Then you have Blade Runner, where Ford plays the part of Rick Deckard, a "Blade Runner" who's job is to terminate renegade "replicants" that are past their expiration date. This movie, in my opinion, is the best sci-fi film ever made. Oh, and who's Han Solo, you ask? Well, he's a bit of a space cowboy--you might of heard of him in that little movie called Star Wars? I forgive you.

Ok so recently they did the "prequels" and that is why Haden Christiansan (Canadian boy) was Hans Solo??? I've heard of R2D2 is he the one that's a gold robot or the blue and white fancy a la garbage looking thing with wheels? And Leia is the one with the hot buns for hair.. that much I remember and the cute little ewoks...or is that another movie entirely?

If it makes you feel any better I haven't seen Lord of the Rings OR Casablanca!

When I think of Blade Runner I think of Wesley Snipes but I think he was in Blade.

Apparently I need to hole up and have an 70's-80's movie marathon to catch up with the times!

Chandra~ Han Solo was in the original three, or, episodes four through six (Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi). Hayden Christensen played the young Anakin Skywalker, who would become the evil Darth Vader at the end of episode 3, and Darth Vader was the main villain in episodes 4-6, who was voiced by James Earl Jones. I forget who wore the costume back then. Anyway, I won't give anything away if you haven't seen any of these.

I bet you are just having fun yanking my chain on all of this, though;)

Blade Runner is one of my all time favorites. I even put it in my myspace profile. THEREFORE, it must be true!

That final scene when R.H. saves H.F... the dove... the death. Really, it's PRO-E'FING-FOUND!

Megatropolis~ Cool! It's good to know that I have some more people who get what I'm talking about. That ending was profound. Ridley Scott sure knew what he was doing with this movie.

Hey, aren't you supposed to be enjoying yourself at Powell? Well, I guess with modern technology you can be there and here at the same time. Two words: far out!

I actually came back a day early. It was a nice trip, but a little on the cool, rainy, and windy side. I wish that technology was that good... I could barely get cell coverage, but then I guess that THAT is what vacationing is all about.

And no, Sean Young does NOT look as hot as she did then. Unless crazy is hot :)

I just read over some of your other comments. I am sitting here, mouth slightly ajar, wondering where in the hell these people were in the 70's, 80's and 90's?!

Yeah, so maybe I'm a dork. But God made no mistake putting me with the parents he did. We got up at like 5 am when the S.W. movies came out. And my dad took me to see Aliens when I was about 12 and stayed home sick from school. Us nerds RULE!

Did you see it? How was it?

I doubt I'll ever see it. I, however, am muchly looking forward to the Sex and the City movie.

Tys~ There are some things in life that you shouldn't have to outgrow.

Megatropolis~ Well, I'm glad that your trip was nice, despite some weather issues. Yeah, I have no idea where some of my readers were during those decades. I, like you, had a family that enabled me to rot my brain with pop culture, and I am all the better for it:D Good to have you back!

Christielli~ It wasn't as good as the first and the third ones, but it was much better than the second. It was a good time.
