Re-onion and udder things

I went to a family reunion last Friday. It was my mom's side of the family. I've never had a family reunion on my dad's side of the family because my dad and his half-sister are just barely acknowledging each other. While I find my father's side of the family more interesting, in a clinical way, I do get along better with my mom's side of the family. It was a good get together and I got to have some face time with my cuz Brett (formerly, The Incorrigible Vagabond) who inspired me to start blogging in the first place. I just wish all of my sisters were there. I wish I could get more into that, but I said that I wouldn't.

The other things: went off roading, bought a cowboy period-style piece for target shooting, pulled a nearly overturned truck out of a culvert with my truck, slashed my wrist while trying to roll up a window in my damned truck when the handle broke and the jagged left overs dug a nice trench in me. That gas station attendant was real spot on with her getting me first-aide supplies. I spent my Sunday asking God "why" and avoided people. I think it's the manses. Anyway, it was a full weekend.

What'd you get up to?

Wedding waaaaaaaay up north this weekend is what I got up to.

Family reunions are fun. Mine doesn't seem to do that anymore.

What's a "cowboy period-style piece for target shooting"?

Weird cuz I spent this past weekend at a family reunion of my own. Eerily, I think the activities were exactly the same as well. Woo hoo for family!

Good to see you, cousin. We really live too close to not grab a bite and/or see a flick now and then.

My weekend was far less eventful. I almost forgot that windows used to have to be rolled down.

I played a little v-ball yesterday (we won most of our games - yay!) and saw a movie on Friday night.

Your poor arm! Hope it feels better. I like how you didn't expand on the story about the overturned truck. So mysterious.

So is it safe to assume that you didn't hook up with anyone over the weekend?

Went on an exhilarating 15mph train ride from Stettler to Big Valley in 100 degree heat, had a banquet supper and watched a dinner theatre, then went to a rockin' pioneer museum that took 3 hours to get through.

Okay, not everybody's bag, but I actually really enjoyed it all! I love doing something different on my weekends off!

Hope your wrists are okay... you must be because you can still type!

I am trying to get caught up on my blog life. That's awesome that you can tell your fam about your blog!

I worked the wknd. Got beat down by a kid. My phone got dunked. I missed the air show. I cleaned. Then it was Monday.

Yay for summer. *Thumbs down* I need a vacation and December is TOO far away.

Christielli~ Well, I got a shooter, albeit a small caliber revolver, for the express purpose of target shooting. It loads and looks like a real old western shooter. It is a guy thing around here, I guess.

Megan~ Cool! My reunion was only on Friday and I wasn't hiding from them on the Sunday. I was hiding from church people.

Cuz~ The movie thing needs to happen. Seriously.

NYD~ Yeah, most people just roll their windows now to order cheeseburgers--still a glorious purpose.

Rawbean~ I didn't expand on the rescue much because I was tired. But if you say it was mysterious that I left out the details, I think I'll go with that.

Jay~ I'm on the wrong side of the Mississippi for that kind of thing. Multiple wives, on the other hand...

Jules~ My wrist healed up fine. It was more of an inconvenience than anything.

Chandra~ You could always try astral travel and leave your body for other worlds. It costs nothing and is great. The downside is that you might take up dancing around airports and singing "Hari! Hari! Krishna! Krishna!"

This was day one of recovering from a 20th year class reunion. ...it's now three weeks later. I think I might be ok.
