The 'Roid of Thy' which functioning is low but reading was high

I am rather pleased by my title. It wraps up my current health woes nicely.  We're talking small potatoes, as far as what I've dealt with. But I keep wondering, what's next with the gift that keeps giving? (That is, having gone through cancer and chemo/radiation treatment.) So, it was a lack of energy, a dash of chest pains, and weight struggles that had me wondering what the pluck was wrong with me.  My regular cancer checkup's labs came back and showed that my thyroid is now not functioning very well.  The good news is that I am going to get some medication to help.  I hope, with these drugs, I turn into Superman, 'cause it would be real rad to fly wearing only red and blue underwear. A boy can dream.

SUPER GOITERMAN AWAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!! (I don't have one of those, but I couldn't resist the pun.)

Be sure to check the list of side effects. If it says "uncontrollable desire to leap tall buildings in a single bound," you're good to go.

Megan~ Now I don't feel like such a freak. Thanks!

Christielli~ I need the power with none of the comic book trappings.

Nessa Roo~ Because "diarrhea" rarely saves the day.

So here's the thing.. I've got a goiter, but my thyroids been functioning normally. After too many biopsies now to count (most of them being recent), though, I am going to have to get it removed because of the possibility/probability of papillary thyroid carcinoma. I'll be joining you in pill land sometime soon. I don't know why I just blurted that out, by the way. I've been really keeping it on the down low until right now. Let's keep it hush.

Jules~ I'm going to tell everyone at work about it;) So far, the pill is just fine, so I hope you have the same experience--no unwanted side effects. I also hope that your health will return to normal, or better:)

Just face it - we are at that point in life where we get to accept things like this and enjoy the "side-benefits" from drugs prescribed for treatment of these things, without guilt! I get to take something from time to time that makes me feel that All-Is-Right-With-the-World, like I want to melt into my surroundings in zen-oneness. My wife loves it, she can ask me to go shopping (something I usually really hate) and I'm like "shsh-ssure..shopping is cool...let's go shopping...I can dig me some shopping any time...I need some more shopa-dopa-laction..."
