Well, thanks for the compliments, all of yous. I can't take credit for anything there. My dad took the picture (he's was really good at that). As for my mother, when she was young she was into bathing suit competitions and beauty pageants, very into that 40' and 50's glamour. Everyone on my mother's side of the family is ultra good looking. It's my dad's side that brought in the toughness to the mix. Take my grandpa Vern, for example, he ate thunder and crapped lightning, or was it the other way around? Anyways, Vern, as I remember him, was almost exactly like the "Mick" character in Rocky, as played by Burgess Merideth. Kind of scary as a kid, but upon reflection, he was real cool.
Anyways, my mom turns 72 on May 7th. I was her B-day present, 'cause mine's the following day. She has women ten years younger than her tell her that when she get's to their age...etc. etc. Then my mom has to interrupt them and explain that she is quite a bit older than them and it blows these women away. My mom still works fulltime and does Avon on the side. She was my role model growing up, because my dad was in la la land and did not work because of it. I have a guilt complex this big (there is no sign for infinity on this keyboard). I owe her so much.
Alright, I've got to quit, or else I'll start with the water works.
Just an ounce is all I needed from this woman. The guy that married her was very lucky she said yes and broke off another engagement. Yes, so am I.
